Introduction to Seiberg-Witten Theory and Spectral Networks

Mohamed Elmi (Rutgers University)

Location:  Hill 705 and on Zoom
Date & time: Tuesday, 23 January 2024 at 10:20AM - 11:20AM

Abstract: I will give an introduction to Seiberg-Witten Theory, which relates the low-energy physics of an N=2 supersymmetric gauge theory to the geometry of a family of Riemann surfaces. I will review the relevant special Kahler geometry and give a short introduction to spectral networks, which are collections of contours on a Riemann surface that are used to understand BPS states and their stability.
