- Jaydeep Singh - Regimes of stability for self-similar naked singularities (Special time & location)

Jaydeep Singh - Princeton University

Location:  SEC 216
Date & time: Wednesday, 08 November 2023 at 2:00PM - 3:00PM

The family of k-self-similar naked singularities, first constructed rigorously by Christodoulou, offers a concrete setting for exploring the instability mechanisms underlying weak cosmic censorship. In this talk we introduce these spacetimes, as well as the classical argument for a blue-shift instability at low regularity. We then consider classes of perturbations supported in the exterior and interior regions, building a picture of how the blue-shift behaves as a function of the support and regularity of initial data considered.
