Abstract: Consider a family of canonical polarized algebraic surface X\to D over a disk , it is well known that there is a unique Kahler-Einstein metric g_t with negative scalar curvature on each smooth fiber X_t when t is nonzero. In this talk, suppose X_0 has cusp singularity, we discuss how the metric g_t degenerates when t goes to 0 through a gluing construction. In particular, we
exhibit Tian-Yau space as a bubble in this process.
