Abstract: For a non-degenerate Hamiltonian function H on a closed symplectic manifold M, Arnold conjecture says the number of one-periodic orbits of H is not less than the sum of betti numbers of M. We will give a gentle introduction on the background of this conjecture, and sketch how people have resolved it.
