Student Time: An Applied Optimization Problem
Virtual Teaching Seminar.

Abstract: While we all strive to give students all the resources to learn and to make the most out of class time, we may fall into the trap of asking for too much of our students’ time, especially in this new online format. This is particularly important for anyone assigning videos for students to watch outside of class time. University policy stipulates that one credit hour corresponds to 3 total hours of work for the median student. In this workshop, we will discuss strategies for using this limited time efficiently, including examples of what others have done in the past. Bring questions and ideas, and be prepared to discuss the topic with your colleagues!
