Title: Entropies of unimodal interval maps with periodic critical orbits
Abstract: This is a collaboration with Kathryn Lindsey, Diana Davis and Harrison Bray. We found a new characterization of the Galois conjugates of a unimodal interval map with periodic critical orbit, using Milnor-Thurston kneading theory and motivated by ideas from complex dynamics, which gives a stronger necessary condition for an algebraic integer to be such a number than prior approaches.

Title: Introduction to Connections in Differential Geometry
Abstract: We'll briefly discuss the notion of a connection in differential geometry, especially the geometric problem that necessitates the concept and the geometric thinking that leads to the formalism and standard textbook definition(s).
