Abstract: We will consider the general relativistic Dirac equation in spherically symmetric curved-space time with arbitrary charge and mass. In 1982, Cohen and Power studied this equation in Reissner-Weyl-Nordstrom space-time, which accepts negative bare mass. They showed that the Dirac equation is not essentially self-adjoint in the case of a naked singularity. In particular, it has multiple self-adjoint extensions. We ask the same question for the Dirac equation in more general space-time settings that accept also negative bare mass. This is joint work with Michael Kiessling and Shadi Tahvildar-Zadeh.
