An Introduction to Maass Forms and their Fourier Expansions

Alex Karlovitz, Rutgers University

Location:  Hill 425
Date & time: Wednesday, 09 October 2019 at 10:30AM - 11:30AM

Abstract: Maass forms are an example of automorphic functions with some additional nice properties. In this talk, I will define Maass forms and explain how to derive their Fourier expansions, both in the upper half plane model and the disk model of hyperbolic space. If time permits, I will also explain Hejhal's Algorithm for computing the Fourier coefficients numerically.
