Why the Continuum Hypothesis is False

James Holland - Rutgers University

Location:  GSL - Hill 701
Date & time: Friday, 20 September 2019 at 1:40PM - 2:40PM

Abstract: This talk will be about some unintuitive consequences of the continuum hypothesis (CH). Mostly this consists of several quick, odd implications of CH in fields other than set theory (mostly basic combinatorics and analysis). If I have time, I'll also state some consequences of CH that are harder to prove (and harder to state).
