Novel Cosmic Probes of Dark Matter

Matthew Buckley - Rutgers University

Location:  Hill 705
Date & time: Thursday, 04 April 2019 at 2:00PM - 3:00PM

Abstract:  Multiple lines of evidence tell us that 25% of the Universe's energy budget is composed of a form of matter that does not interact via the electromagnetic or strong nuclear forces. Despite decades of searching, we have yet to determine the particle nature of this mysterious dark matter. I will review the status of our existing dark matter search program, and then describe new techniques that may allow us to use the results of large astrophysical surveys to make measurements of the particle nature of dark matter.
