What Bohmian Quantum Electrodynamics Might Look Like

Roderich Tumulka - Tuebingen

Location:  Hill 423
Date & time: Wednesday, 28 March 2018 at 11:00AM - 12:15PM

Abstract:  I will outline a vision of a future theory of QED with particle trajectories. I will summarize partial results obtained so far towards such a theory and describe the motivation for a particular choice of ontology, as well as the hurdles and open problems. Particular roles in the envisioned theory will be played by photon wave functions, multi-time wave functions, interior-boundary conditions, and some equations first considered by Lev Landau and Rudolf Peierls.
