Mathematics Department - Dialup Networking

Dialup Networking

General information about dial-up networking at Rutgers can be found on the NBCS web page: Get Online!. The page, RUCS Dialups, contains a list of telephone numbers for remote access to Rutgers computers. To use these, one must have an account on eden or rci. See Creating Accounts on RUCS systems if you do not have an account on either or these.

The Mathematics Department no longer has dedicated dialups. The only dialup numbers available now are those supported by OIT.

In order to reach your math account over dialup, you will first need to use of the dialup numbers supported by OIT, log into your RCI or ICI account, and use ssh to reach math, or other machines on which you have a math account, i.e. your personal machine. The only other option would be one of the many dialup internet providers which offer access through local calls in most US locations.
